Sunday Life Magazine ‘5, 6, 7, 8’ 3 page feature story As the sole male dancer for the National Basketball League’s Razorbacks, Joel Peisley, 24, is in demand & doesn’t have to endure the tough auditions – or “cattle calls” as he terms them – that the girls are put through. “When I first started with the Razorbacks (in 1998), I was basically the only male dancer in the NBL, which got us lots of media attention,” he recalls. “But since then, the other teams have all added guys as part of their entertainment.” It seems more males are getting into dance now because of Hip Hop’s “cool” factor. “It’s kinda the cool thing for teams to do now. I do still get people asking me if my mates give me a hard time. But when they see you hanging out with a group of gorgeous-looking girls, if anything, they wanna trade jobs.” ...back...
